About the center

On December 28, 2010, the Dialog Social and Political Center was reorganized into the Municipal Autonomous Institution of Culture, the Dialog Center for Culture, Art and Public Initiatives.
The founder is the Committee for Culture and Youth Policy of the Administration of Veliky Novgorod.
Currently, the Center consists of several departments involved in various activities.

The Novgorod Center for Contemporary Art includes the City Exhibition Center and the Novgorod House of Photography.More than 265 exhibitions of masters from Russia, near and far abroad, as well as Veliky Novgorod and the Novgorod Region (among them Z. Tsereteli, V. Yashke, M. Chagall, A. Zinshtein, Asya Nemchenok and many others) have already taken place in the premises of the Center for Contemporary Art. The Center for Contemporary Art collaborates productively with art centers, museums and private collectors. On the basis of the Center for Contemporary Art, the Okoyom Regional Photo Festival and the exhibition of the Novgorod branch of the Union of Artists are annually held.

Center for Musical Culture S. V. Rachmaninov aims to promote the classical musical heritage and domestic performing art. Every two years, the Center for Musical Culture holds the International Competition for Young Pianists named after S.V. Rachmaninov, who in a short time became one of the authoritative Russian musical competitions for children and youth. Performances of the contest participants are held on the best instrument of the city - the Steinway piano, which is located in the concert hall of the Dialogue. In addition to international competitions, the Rakhmaninov Days (spring and autumn), classical music concerts, and conversations about it for schoolchildren and students are held at the Center for Musical Culture. The center organizes master classes for students and teachers of Novgorod children's music schools and NOCI them. S.V. Rachmaninov. Since the fall of 2016, the Center has hosted the “Musical Lounge”, uniting professional musicians and music lovers in Veliky Novgorod.

The Department of Creative Initiatives also functions in Dialogue, because our Center is a place where various cultural events, concerts and events are held, from small corporate events to festivals and competitions of an international level. This is facilitated by a spacious concert hall with excellent acoustics and a convenient arrangement of seats for spectators. In January 2013, the hall was partially renovated - the seats and flooring were put in order; in 2016, it was decorated with new crystal chandeliers. The Dialog Center regularly hosts musical groups, soloists, choreographers, and collectives not only in Veliky Novgorod, but also in other cities and regions of Russia. Every third Saturday in May, Dialog awaits its guests and citizens for the annual “Great Hanseatic Journey in One Day”.

The Dialog Center provides services for organizing a range of events for children’s summer vacations, graduation parties, Honey Fairytale family holiday days, Milk Day holiday, organizing and conducting contests, festivals, and cultural and leisure events at various levels. The tradition of the Center was the annual holding of exhibitions-fairs of goods and services for women “Beauty Power”, for future newlyweds “Wedding Boom” and many others.

The creative team of the Dialog Center is specialists who love and know their job. Our task is to make the Dialog Center an institution accessible and interesting not only for residents of Veliky Novgorod, but also for its guests.
